How can I best transtion my dogs to the new recipes?
We always recommended a gradual transition when changing foods. We are using highly digestible protein sources such as Chicken, Salmon, and Lamb, so we don't expect any issues. Studies were conducted for all recipes to evaluate the flavor and performance of each diet. All products meet or exceed our targets.
Why did you move to real meat first? Do you still have meat meal in your formula?
Real meat as the first ingredient is a leading consumer request. We are always evaluating how we can make our foods better for pet parents and pets and this change was a way to accomplish both of these goals. The new recipes do still contain meat meals as well.
When will the new Canidae All Life Stages become available?
The new Canidae All Life Stages will start to hit the shelves and online stores as of 7/1. It is our goal to have the new Canidae All Life Stages portfolio widely available as soon as possible. During the transition time it is possible to see both current and new recipes on shelf.
Can I still get the old Canidae All Life Stages?
All current Canidae All Life Stages recipes will be discontinued and only available as long as inventory lasts in select channels. All our new Canidae All Life Stages recipes are nutritionally balanced and follow the AAFCO guidelines for all life stages and breeds. Will Large Breed & Less Active still be available?
All our new ALS Recipes are nutritionally balanced and follow the AAFCO guidelines for all life stages and breeds, including large breeds. Large Breed and Less Active will no longer be available, but we recommend that pet parents who are feeding Large Breed and Less Active recipes switch to our Multi-Protein or Chicken & Ancient Grains recipes. Will I have to feed more?
We always recommend to review the feeding guidelines and use those to determine the amount of food to feed your pet. Minor updates to the feeding guidelines were made and are reflected on packaging and on product pages online.
Does the new ALS portfolio have any Chicken Free formulas?
Chicken is a high-quality, highly digestible protein that contains essential nutrients to support muscle health. The new Canidae All Life Stages portfolio is focused on providing high-quality nutrition with real meat as the first ingredient at a great pricepoint. If it is desirable to avoid poultry as an ingredient, we recommend our Canidae Pure line. Our customer care team will be more than happy to assist suggesting an alternative formula if desired. HOW did you reduce the price to consumer and make the recipe better?
As we changed our Canidae All Life Stages recipes to become meat first, it gave us the opportunity to optimize the ingredients we use to deliver the best nutrition profile, taste and cost. In addition, we have invested in our plant to improve efficiencies that we are passing on to the consumer.

All our new Canidae All Life Stages recipes are nutritionally balanced and follow the AAFCO guidelines for all life stages and breeds, including large breed. Why did you update the product?
At Canidae Pet Foods, we regularly evaluate our recipes to ensure that we incorporate the most current nutritional concepts while meeting the optimum nutrition level for pets and keeping with current AAFCO Guidelines. These recipes now deliver real meat, poultry, or fish as the number one ingredient while providing a better price for our pet parents.
Can I still buy a 15 lb bag?
The new Canidae All Life Stage recipes will only be offered in the following sizes. There will no longer be a 15 lb.
