CANIDAE Friends and Local Retailer Support Make a Wish Foundation Charity Convoy

Keith Herzig first organized the Wishes on Wheels Truck Charity Convoy in 1999. Now in its tenth year, this annual Wishes on Wheels convoy, benefiting the Make a Wish Foundation charity, consists of hundreds of truckers driving 35 miles from Willington Connecticut down Interstate 84. Last year the event raised $90,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation which helps families whose children have life threatening illnesses.
Together with monster truck rides, a carnival and other fun activities at the starting line in Willington, the event featured a raffle to help raise funds. Bill Taylor and his friend Lee Hawthorne, who owns L. R. Hawthorne and Son Agway store in Enfield, CT, donated bags of CANIDAE Pet Food as raffle prizes.
As people waved and clapped from highway overpasses, Bill and 476 other drivers made their way along the highway, complete with a Connecticut State Police escort. Bill's dog Hannah, pictured, came along for the ride.
